Video from the Middle East shows a public execution style beheading of a man with a curved blade, scimitar type sword. In the background you can see several decapitated corpses piled up along with their severed heads, and the ground is stained with large pools of blood, indicating that this was a mass execution event.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any detailed background information about the beheadings. Notice how many children are in the crowd of spectators. That one front row kid even steps to the side in order to get a better view, because the executioner positioned himself right between him and the victim.
On a plus side, if there even is one, at least this type of beheading is fairly fast. Certainly less agonizing than slow dagger blade to the neck.

I wonder how much the “head” is fully conscious and aware of what’s going on after the slice? I wonder, if in the case of the young guy in this video, if he felt his head hitting the ground.
If you look closely at the freshly-cut slice on the guy’s head as it’s lying on the ground, you can see the muscles moving. For a brief second, the camera is in focus when the head is lying still on the ground, and you can see some slight movement at the base of the head, literally inside the neck itself. It’s as if the “head” is still trying to suck air in or something.
Then, the camera cuts away to the body being dragged away. Also, I noticed almost no blood whatsoever was gushing out of the severed neck. I saw no blood gushing out at all. I expected to see a fountain of blood spurting out well beyond the body being dragged off to the pile.
as soon the body dropped there was spray of blood gushing out before hitting the ground, yeah..a swift quick cut with a sharp knife wouldn’t be so agonizing compare to a dull dagger or a chainsaw!
Yeah, I had to watch it a few more times. I guess there was so much blood on the ground to begin with that it all just mixed in and was somewhat hidden in the red mix on the ground.

Wish we could use this method or the guillotine and not take millions thru appeals and 15 yrs to get it done! I’m not sure exactly where in the Mid East this video is from, but I watched a doc about Saudi pubic executioners and they are trained swordsmen, and they do more then behead criminals, they actually visit the victims family the night before the beheading to attempt to sway the victims family to accept bloodmoney (diyya) basically financial compensation and will also spare the criminals life. If the victims family wants to perform the beheading they can do so, which would probably look more like a “Mexican drug Cartel beheading” then one from Saudi Aribia lol.

I remember seeing this a few days ago when another member posted the link to it. Quick beheadings such as this make for a fast painless execution but I think spectators prefer seeing a slower beheading with a dull knife.
