Israeli Journalist Tzadok Yehezkeli Wounded by Bomb in Georgia
Even though Georgia doesn’t get as much press in the west as let’s say Iraq or Afghanistan, it’s a warzone similar to those countries. Ongoing military conflicts between Georgia and Russia claimed many lives, including lives of journalists (even though The Philippines still leads the way as the most dangerous country with highest numbers of killed journalists, but that’s not the point). Pictured above in white shirt is a Dutch journalist Jeroen Akkermans who reports for RTL News. The guy they are dragging is an Israeli journalist Tzadok Yehezkeli (sometimes spelled as Zadok Yehezkeli) from Yedioth Ahronoth. They got too close to the action in Georgian city of Gori (that’s too close to Gory).
Several foreign and local reporters were standing near the town square in Gori when a bomb went off in their proximity killing number of people, including an RTL cameraman Stan Storimans who was there with Jeroen Akkermans. Tzadok Yehezkeli sustained potentially life threatening wounds but was pulled to safety and thrown in an ambulance by Jeroen Akkermans who himself was lightly wounded by the blast. Some reports claim that it wasn’t a bomb, but an open fire from Russian aircraft.
Jeroen Akkermans is the hero in this case. He lost his cameraman to the blast and didn’t even know who that other guy was, but since he was still alive, he risked his own life to get him to safety. One year later, in August of 2009, Jeroen Akkermans took Russia to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) over this attack.

NO THANKS, Guys… I’ll do it myself. Really, No thanks, really….
The Philippine government started issuing firearms to journalists…
Why would a journalist even want to go there…?
“Another day, another bomb went off, same as the last 10 fucking years…”
Kudos to Akkermans though
Town named Gori. I lol’d at that part.
“licky-louie” Where are you man?? your missing out on some Golden moments man….
And Happy Gore year…
Both the Phillipines and Georgia (along with Chechnya) are having all their problems because of stupid fucking muslim separatists. Ossieta (majority scuzzlim) which was partly in russia and partly in Georgia wanted to be autonomous & Georgia said no. This began the entire conflict between Georgia and russia. In 2004 Chechnyan “separtists” muhajadeen (muslim terrorists)took control of an elementary school in a siege in which 156 were killed and hundreds of adults. Something I notice in western media that pisses me off is how they call these Chechnyan terrorists “separtists”. Why? Because they aren’t bombing us? They are disgusting murders, and typical of muslims in every country in which they live, as soon as they build up any significant population, they demand autonomy, as in “this is ours now just because we live here” – That is why any non-muslim country that allows a high number of muslim immigrants are fucking fools.
