Dead Body Gets Eaten by Nasty Maggots

Dead Body Gets Eaten by Nasty Maggots

Maggots are nasty. I betcha the place where this corpse was found reeked of dead flesh. Someone had the unfortunate job of cleaning this dead body and moving it to the morgue. Judging by maggot-free innards, I’m guessing the torso has not been cut open until the body was discovered and passed on to the relevant authorities. Also judging by what appears as severe burns, I’m assuming this person died of exposure to fire.

I can’t come to solid conclusion on whether this body is a woman or a man. Something is telling me this is a woman and even though at first glance the stomach gives an impression that there could be an unborn baby inside, I don’t think that’s the case. It’s just a stomach poking out of the belly. Where the hell is hair though. Maggots don’t eat hair, do they? Why does the skull appear to be so smooth and hair free?

Hey Mark… great pics. The reason the head is so slick is…
1 In a fire, the hair is the first thing to go.
    2. After decomp starts, you get something called skin-slippage. The gasses build up between tissue layers and the outer skin becomes very loose and sometimes completely slips off. Also could be from the fire burning a few layers of the skull.

The abdomen probably wasn’t “cut” open but rather “Burst” open from the decomp. or even from the heat of the fire.

Maggots don’t eat hair, but when the skin and tissue that holds the hair is gone, the hair is gone with the wind.

I’ve had to deal with maggots and bodies before. They make a HORRIBLE smacking noise as they make soup of the tissues and move around in them. AND YEAH- the smell from this corpse would be FEROCIOUS. If this was in an apartment building, bet the enitre building got the smell. There have even been times when the “juice” would run through the flooring and drip to the apartment below. NICE!

Oh Yeah… this looks like a female to me too. Loooks like what is left of her right breast and very darkened nipple area.

Is that a purse under her arm?

  4. licky-louie says:

Hieronymus- It looks like one of those little decorative pillows to me. I think she is in bed.

ya know… the more I look at these pics, the more I think that fire wasn’t even a factor. The blackened tissue may well be from decomp only. I don’t see any charring of material around the body.

Kinda looked like fried chicken. Kidding

    Yeah.

    Just died in bed.

Hey everyone. I am a new poster, but I have to disagree with LickyLou. This is not a fire death. What you see is general decomposition, no charring and plenty of maggots. LL is correct in saying that gaseous decomp could cause the opening of the torso, and due to the nature of the wound I think that is a probable cause. Would be interested to hear other points of view but am confident there is no fire involved in this death.

    HEY theweescot… welcome…
You didn’t read all the posts.
In POST #5– I said– “ya know… the more I look at these pics, the more I think that fire wasn’t even a factor. The blackened tissue may well be from decomp only. I don’t see any charring of material around the body.”
In my first post, POST #1… I was mearly commenting on the description Mark from BestGore made about fire.

Look around through the massive files in BestGore. You’ll find LOTS of goodies to feast your GORE-Starved eyes upon.

    Thanks licky,

I can clearly hear the maggots eating dead flesh right now…

But yeah it doesn’t look like she (if it is a she) died from a fire. But then if it wasn’t a fire it brings back Mark’s question, where’s the hair? I always thought hair sorta stuck there for awhile

    They stole KFC’s recipe.

USAGI- If you look at the second pic, right under where the left ear would be, you’ll see some hair. It’s all matted up in clumps. With allt he juice invovled in this decomp, it didn’t stay loose like you think hair would look. Also, as the skin decomposes, it tends to stick to what ever the head is lying on. When the body was rolled most of it stuck to the bed, along with clumps of matted hair. (I think this is the case here). I’ve seen this kind of thing up close and personal in my work.

  14. licky-louie says:

I’ll betcha if they showed pics of the body after it was rolled, you’d find lots of goodies stuck to the bed the entire length of the body. Thus my comment in Post #1 about skin-slippage.

    Licky-

Ah yes, I see… How interesting, thanks for the answer!

Hey LickyLouie. Yeah you’re right, I didn’t read the posts thru properly. Was far too excited at finding a site with some new gore to look at rather than the recycled rubbish I was having to look at! Lol!! My apologies to yourself my friend. :)

  17. licky-louie says:

theweescot- No problem, No apologies needed. This is just what we do. Glad you found us.

  18. licky-louie says:

    usagi-
no probs. As a funeral director, (undertaker, embalmer, body remover, etc.), I see LOTS of good gore, even stinkers like this one, once in a while. One thing is for sure, NOBODY has seen it all. There are still surprises. That’s why I visit BestGore. It has GREAT variety and it’s the ONLY SANE Gore site around.

  19. Usagi says:

    Licky-

I was wondering how you knew so much. That is so interesting. The closest I’m come to death is working at a cemetery, which has been my most favorite job. Thanks for being so helpful!

Those arent burns. That is skin discoloration that is a characteristic of decomposition.
