My impression is that the curry-muncher touched the cable incidentally, with no thought of suicide or anything else whatsoever – the way a kid absent-mindedly runs his fingers along the top of a fence he’s walking beside. Immediately after he cops the belts his hair appears to be alight, giving off smoke and a visible flame. It’s very hard to sympathise because what the fuck was he doing up there any way? Probably skiting, as has been suggested.
