15 years old Julio Castillo played baseball with his friends outside his apartment at 47-15 48th Street in Sunnyside, Queens, New York on July 8, 1989. After a successful strike sent the ball far away, Julio Castillo climbed over a wrought-iron fence to retrieve it. Being a can-do-all teenager, the not so invincible Julio slipped and impaled his jaw on a fence spike. Almost an inch wide piece of spiked metal entered his neck and came out his mouth missing his jugular vein by a thread.
Rescue team with New York firefighters arrived at the scene quickly, finding a teenager impaled in the most unlikely way. Fence cutting was the only option, but in order to prevent Julio Castillo from twitching while hacksaw runs on the max, they tied the teenager to the fence. Any additional movement could cause further damage to his neck, some of which could be fatal.
To protect Julio Castillo from sparks, the firefighters draped the boy in one of their fire proof coats before fence cutting was initiated. A 150 pound chunk of fence measuring 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 foot took 20 minutes and 6 blades to cut off. Additional spikes were later removed using a six-pound electric hacksaw until the fence impaled through boy’s head only weighted about 4 pounds. Julio Castillo was then taken to the City Hospital Center at Elmhurst by ambulance where the impaled part was removed from his neck by surgeons. The boy fully recovered from the accident.
I think Julio Castillo needs to thank his favorite deity for having friends who were not gay. His 15 year old virgin ass was consciously there, yet its owner could do fuck all if any of his friends wanted to take him on bareback.
