Three People Die As Armored Vehicle Guards Respond to Armed Robbery

On August 29, 2011 two armed robbers attempted to rob an armored vehicle in Galeria Itália, near the Três Américas shopping mall in Cuiabá, the capital city of the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil. Shootout between the vehicle guards and robbers resulted in three deaths – one guard and both robbers.

One of the robbers was shot in the head and died with an impressive skull crack. The other one was shot in the leg and attempted to escape in a vehicle he stole from a woman in the parking lot, but rapid bleeding caused him to lose consciousness and hit a truck.

One of the reports I read said 4 people eventually died, which could mean that one of the wounded guards passed away while receiving treatment for the wounds in a hospital.

Here’s a CCTV video of the shootout:

TV report by MS 24 Horas had better quality video but graphic scenes are blurred out:

  1. Best part of this is the klutzy girl in the red top trying to haul ass out of there at minute 1:30 of Vid 1. She slips on some blood, trips over the dead guy’s head and has an epic full speed 5 alarm wipe out!

  2. Looks like they shoot the guy on the floor a second time in the head just as the klutzy lady in red is running by. Seems pretty strange and risky if she was just a civilian. Maybe he shot himself there, but it’s hard to believe he was still capable of it after that first shotgun blast to his cranium.
