These two young bakers were honest workers. They got up early, baked homemade bread to be delivered to storeowners before other people got up so they could buy fresh bread before going to work. Honest workers or not, it was in Acapulco where they tried to earn an honest living. Needless to say, in Mexico, honest men often end up being the ones who pay the highest price because they don’t earn millions like drug traffickers do and can’t afford their own private army of bodyguards.
Who would want two honest bakers dead? Who knows? Few things make sense in Acapulco where paying with lead for labor received is a norm. But it wouldn’t surprise me if lowlife extortionists demanded of the honest workers to pay the racket for “protection”. Mexico is fucked up big time cause it looks like that unless you’re a big fucking chapo of sorts, you’re essentially a dead man walking.
