Motorcyclist who wasn’t wearing flip flops and had a safety helmet properly secured on his head died a violent death because there simply are situations in which no amount of safety gear can save your life. The motorcyclist had his head crushed by a semi truck which turned his skull into a mushy mess inside the helmet. The worst part – the truck came to a stop with motorcyclist’s crushed head still wedged under the wheels. The safety helmet was still on whatever was left of victim’s skull.
The accident happened at the intersection of Avenida JK and Rua Paulo Sérgio Ursolino in the municipality of Alta Floresta d’Oeste, state of Rondônia, Brazil. The victim was identified as 21 year old Adriano Alves dos Santos. The truck driver – as is a tradition in Brazil, fled the scene leaving the truck behind.
The truly sad thing is that the victim did everything right – he was not a Da Silva, did not wear flip flops, wore helmet on his head and not on the handle bars and had it properly fastened so it stayed on his head in spite of the impact. Sometimes doing everything right is simply not enough.

We don’t know if he did EVERYTHING right. We don’t know if he was drunk, or if he was headed to kill his girlfriend (or shield her). Or if was going to execute a politician in his vehicle. But we do know he was living in Brazil, and thats enough to get you killed.

How the fuck can you think that this is the best way to die? He crashed off his motorcycle and was probably in severe pain up until the time he saw a huge semi-truck coming straight for head and his pain switched to severe anxiety and fear…yeah what a great way to die.
