French Rugby Referee Mathieu Raynal Breaks His Leg

During a French Top 14 rugby fixture between Montpellier and Racing Metro referee Mathieu Raynal got caught in a tangle with players and sustained a double fracture of tibia and fibula. Because the tangle also somehow broke his collarbone, he’s left completely immobilized – he can’t use crutches.

During an interview with The Independent, Mathieu Raynal said he had no recollection of the incident. Doctors who are treating him said he should be able to start walking in three months.
