A few decades ago it was customary for some families to take their deceased child to a photographer, prop it up in a studio so it looks as close to being alive as possible and take a picture of it as their only lasting memory of a child. The practice was known as Memento Mori. Some photography studio had frames designed to pose dead babies up and resident make-up artists who specialized in painting open eyes on the eyelids of dead children to make them appear as though their eyes were open and still alive.

This is a collection of Memento Mori – old, black and white photos from people’s old photo albums showcasing the dead children taken either in a photography studio or by a photographer on site during funeral.

Vintage photo shows a mob style killing of a man who was bound and mutilated. His right leg and left arm were severed, but penis left to hang in there next to that raw flesh. The executioners didn’t even cut him up at the joints so it must have been a slow and painful cleaving process as they were hacking through tough bones. I can imagine that the purpose was to torture the man out of his mind so I don’t expect he was dead when they started hacking him. Horrible way to die!

Two black and white vintage pictures show victims of a dynamite explosion. No word on how and why these men were torn by dynamite but it could have been during a mining operation, given dry, desolate land they’ve landed upon.

This is easily one of the weirdest gore photos I’ve ever seen. The way the couple of fellows stands above the dead man and stares at him is pure fucking odd, but the purse in the dead man’s hand takes the cake. Seriously, what the fuck is going on in this photo?

From the vintage looks of the photo I’m guessing the accident dates back to the beginnings of color photography, which I have no idea when it took place so let’s focus on two weird dudes standing above the dead man and their pointy footwear instead. The one in chequered shirt is actually checking the purse out as it seems undamaged. He looks like he’s playing with an idea of snatching it and taking off like a silent fart.

Gore is as old as human race itself. We’re just a bunch of fragile, vulnerable pieces of worthless flesh wrapped around mind that likes to draw blood. While photography has not been around all that long, given that we’re still those worthless pieces of flesh, it’s only natural that right from its beginning, photography has been used to capture whores and gore. This is a small collection of vintage photos featuring women who died in car accidents. These were quite possibly high class whores serving men with status. They are all dressed up in outfits that would have been deemed skimpy few decades back and happen to be casually located inside poshy automobiles.

If my theory is right, then they died the way they had lived. Filthy! They were quite possibly good in bed, though. The golden age of blowjob is the thing of the past. Finding a slut who can blow without going chainsaw on your junk or one who can take it deeper than half through the head is a tricky bit of business. Back then sluts would even die on your crotch. Ahhh well!
