First Best Gore Meet-Up (pic)
That’s right – a grand total of two people showed up for the first ever Best Gore meet-up. To my defense, the meet-up was unofficial and unannounced. Had I known there is such a solid base of Best Gore fans in Iceland, I would have made it public and we’d have a nice gathering of the most open-minded people on the island.
I was contacted by Rutur just days before I had left for Iceland. He mentioned in the message that he was from Iceland, so I said that I was heading there and asked him if he wanted to get together perhaps for a beer or two. By the time I got his response, I was already plowing my ass through mind-blowing land of fire and ice and it was only on my very last day in the country, that I got a chance to get on the internet and check my emails. I called Rutur up and even though my flight was leaving in a couple of hours, we met at Reykjavik harbor, had a blunt together, puked on the sidewalk, harassed sea birds and then I had to dart off for the airport. This unofficial, secret and private meet-up marks special anniversary of two gore lovers from different continents meeting for the first time as result of Best Gore being out there.
The good looking dude with the blunt is Rutur, the unshaven, death tired after 9 days of exploring, not showering and sleeping in a car piece of throw up on the right is me. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. If anyone is heading to the redneck piece of wood (would make no sense, why would anyone want to come to Edmonton) and would like to continue with the tradition of meeting up, shoot me a message and we’ll try to get things arranged. If I happen to head to some other part of the world, I’ll try to let you guys know so maybe more of us can meet. You guys fucking rock!
