This video is from 1966. It shows a collision of the D-21 spy drone with its M-21 launch craft. The two separated and seconds later, collided and burst into fireballs. The massive M-21 craft split it two after the impact.
The flight crew ejected in time and safely landed in the sea. Pilot Bill Park survived, but LCO Ray Torrick drowned because his pressure suit leaked.
