D-21 Spy Drone Collides with M-21 Launch Craft - 1966 Video

This video is from 1966. It shows a collision of the D-21 spy drone with its M-21 launch craft. The two separated and seconds later, collided and burst into fireballs. The massive M-21 craft split it two after the impact.

The flight crew ejected in time and safely landed in the sea. Pilot Bill Park survived, but LCO Ray Torrick drowned because his pressure suit leaked.

Thought someone would appreciate a video like that. It’s a bit of diversity added to the usual daily programming:

  1. The footage is thematic with the movie I watched earlier tonight: Dr.Strangelove. 1960s military activity, and all. Except not as funny without Peter Sellers. Still, a good video, and a nice change of pace.

  2. 1966, a good year, a great year, THE year a lunatic was born!!!!!!! How cheesy was that guys???? (yeah 66 ,the year I was born what a cruel joke on me)
