ISIS Attack Peshmerga Positions in Nineveh, Behead Two Captured Soldiers

Unlike most videos released by ISIS, this one does not contain a lot of nasheed music. But like most videos released by ISIS, the act of beheading in this one is too censored out – James Foley style.

The video contains combat footage of the Islamic State mujaheddin launching attacks on Peshmerga positions in Nineveh Governorate, near Mosul, in northern Iraq.

At the end of the video, ISIS behead two men in military uniforms. One appears to be a decorated officer, the other one was probably just a cannon fodder.

At 5:45, mouth on the severed head flexes up and tongue is pushed between the teeth. We’ve seen similar involuntary facial muscle spasms in decapitation videos before.

      If I saw these bastards coming towards me and knew capture was imminent, in a split second of thinking I would be caught between the prospect of maybe escaping and the thought of beheading.
      If you decided against suicide and couldn’t escape and you were then on your knees with a knife wielding maniac behind you, I couldn’t imagine the regret you would feel.
      To take your own life in that position with the thought of a possible rescue or escape must be what sometimes stops them from taking their own lives.
      I know it could be what stopped me to.
