DDoS Attack on Best Gore - September 22, 2016

The above is a screenshot from CloudFlare – our CDN provider, who also proxies traffic to the BestGore.com website. The spike you can see at the end of the graph is the attack that targeted out website and took it down for 3 hours.

The attack is still ongoing, but traffic is now filtered through CloudFlare’s mandatory user check, so the server is no longer crippled.

BTW, that what looks like a flat line before the spike, is actually a graph of usual traffic that passes through CloudFlare to get to the server that hosts BestGore.com, but because typical number of requests per hour is around 500k, but the attack took it up to almost 70 Million, a normal day traffic is reduced to a line.

Still, despite the attack, we’re still posting. Take that, haters 😛

    1. Lol exactly. Apparently sites with “offensive material” get attacked all the time so unfortunately pussies who wanna dictate what the whole world watches on the internet won’t stop anytime soon.

  1. I thought it was my Internet connection because the first site I check practically every single day is BG but the I tried my other sites and they worked so I was like “FFFFFFUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  2. @happy You have been posting like a crazy person despite your limited internet access. Thank you once again. It truly is great to have you back! These DDOS attacks that have been happening here and there, I wonder if it’s some group or just a random asshole that doesn’t like the site. Strikes me as odd that it happens at all as hackers are usually pro freedom of speech. I know that SJW morons can be hackers too though. Just curious if anyone had an idea who is behind these attacks.

    1. Thanks man. I have a 3GB data plan on my cell phone for emergencies, because I only get normal speed internet when I descend into the village for a few hours in the morning to do most of the posting. I return back into the mountain in the afternoon, and from that point on I’m cut off. I do occasional pop ins with the cell phone, but speed is always super slow, and often not loading at all. Plus because mobile data plans are so expensive here, there’s not a whole lot I can do from my mobile. And this attack occurred while I was in the mountain. It takes me about 3 hours to return from the village back to the jungle, but that includes a stop in the river which I must wade to access my area. I bathe and wash my clothes in the river (I don’t use soaps – fresh mountain water is all that does it). I had to deal with the attack on my super slow loading phone.

  3. I wondered what happened last night. I love coming on here after I’ve put the kids to bed then read a bit of reddit after. Started using antidepressants yesterday and I can tell you she wasn’t kidding you would feel worse before you get better. Tottally ruined my night and had no clue what to do with myself. So now I’ve taken kids to school and getting my fix of the real world. Keep them coming. Love this site

        1. Thanks man, I can’t see what could be causing it, but I’ve made some changes never the less. Restart your browser and clear your cache. If you still keep getting these redirects, let me know as I may need to hire someone who knows what they are doing to get rid of that shit.
