Here is the thing about thinking. You control what you think about. If you sit around thinking about all the negative things that have happened to you, you are going to have negative emotions. Negative thinking gives you negative emotions. Positive thinking gives you positive emotions. So have you had anything good happen in your life? Think about that instead. Think positive. Don’t sit around feeling sorry for yourself. It just leads to feelings of depression and hopelessness.

Live one day at a time. You can learn from your past, but don’t dwell on it constantly. Live in the day, and plan for the future. Learn to enjoy simple things, like a good meal. Be grateful for what you do have in your life. Be strong, keep moving forward. Don’t let your thoughts get you down. Anytime you have a negative thought, stop yourself, say to yourself, this is negative thinking. I’m going to think positive instead, today is a beautiful day. Think positive.

Take a pen and a piece of paper and write down ten things you like about yourself.
