Metal is often very skill-intensive and serious music. Post some easy listening. Maybe something that you could even dance to!

The first thing that immediately came to mind here is ‘Ambeon’ – Arjen Lucassen’s side project from 2001 with Astrid van de Veen, who was only 14 at the time.

I love this tune when the mini solo kicks in at 2min, and the epic end to the track.

Or Ashes, probably my favourite track on the album:

Or The Gathering. One of my favourite bands, and certainly Anneke van Giersbergen is one of my all-time favourite vocalists.

They have never sounded better than on Amity:

Or more up-tempo, On Most Surfaces:

      Saturnine:

      Easy listening, all day long.

Different end of the spectrum, arguably not ‘metal’, but I’d also throw in this number from Russia’s Tracktor Bowling. The melody behind this tune is on-point start to finish and the solo at the end…

Also a fan of Arkona, another Russian band, folk-metal:

Great Band & Tune Mark, as they have a similar sound style as Metallica.

not exactly sure what you mean by dancing
other than headbanging and moshing but

if you like soft vocals and electronic metal

would also recommend everything by DADAROMA and Feed Her to the Sharks

i don’t know if i come off as a pleb because of the music i just linked but fuck it they’re good
