        Welcome Lalaland.

Working your way to Funeral Care through placements in Mental Health and Health. Good luck with that.

When I was a student I tried working my way into being a pornstar by masturbating a lot and being rude.

When that didn’t work I tried to become a family doctor by cleaning Waiting Rooms and taking Aspirin.

We are a happy bunch here. Don’t take anything anyone says too seriously. There is no filter here, that is why BG is so fucking great and why we are able to view some clips of the World as it is – not the rose-tinted, safeplace horseshit we are fed by the MSM.

The great thing about BG is people disagreeing. It’s brilliant. Imagine.

Sometimes people agree too. That’s brilliant too. Imagine.

          An “Anglish” Thing eh?
Just like my lady-lexis – I hate to be “that guy” – But bad spelling is one thing (Im an awful speller myself), BUT spelling the name of the country you COME from with the wrong FIRST LETTER is taking “bad spelling” to quite a different level… dont you think? 😉 lol

Glad you are training in mental health though, our country needs as may nurses as we can get. Especially in that field.
Are you training “in house”, ie. working under supervision of a qualified nurse or doctor, & receiving a bursary?
Or are you taking a full time uni or college course?

Im from England also – Ive never heard it described as “the land of the brave” before?!
America (U.S.A.) is known as “the land of the free and HOME of the brave”, because that is a line from the U.S. National Anthem.

I recon it must be a regional thing, eh? maybe they call England “the land of the brave” in your region?

SO, Where-abouts are you from in England?
Im pretty (quite, actually) good with regional accents… both knowing them and understanding them when written down… so dont worry that i may have any “difficulty of trying to read it”.

Nice to meet you too (?)
          WELCOME to the Site.

I’m VERY interested to hear the answers to your questions! I used to work as a recruitment agency which specialised in providing healthcare workers for hospitals and nursing homes etc. Definitely no doubt here that we need more nurses, especially in the field of mental health and dementia! Shame to lose a potential healthcare worker to funeral care. If we had more nurses, maybe we’d need less funeral homes! 😉

@lady-lexis My work in the pharmaceutical field took me to living centers (nursing homes) daily. The job made me extremely depressed. I hated it. It literally fucked up my mind for awhile. I had to resign. It takes a very cold person to do that work. Not a bad petson, but you must harden to not take it home with you.

        • #116216

@itsplaster,were you a nurse or pharmaceutical rep in a former life?

No, Hoping, I worked for a large scale pharmacy that puts dispensing machines right into hospitals. I maintained the machine. So I was a service tech for the machine – cleaning, fixing electronic malfunctions, packaging jams – and a pharmacy tech as well by keeping up with the meds going in and out of the machine.

Do you mean the pharmaceutical job needs a cold person or working in a nursing home?

@lady-lexis I meant to work in a nursing home. Maybe “cold” is the wrong term. It’s just the residents are always asking for people who may not even be alive anymore or they think you’re their daughter. It’s heart-wrenching and to actually work, you have to ignore them. For me, that was hard and I took it home with me. I don’t have the demeanor. And I was just the “pharmacy girl” as they called me.

          @itsplaster
Oh yeah definitely. Some of the facilities are fine to work in, like the assisted living and residential units, where the old dears still have their faculties about them. They usually have great stories. I still do the odd homecare visit where I can in order to help out old friends who still work in recruitment. It’s usually just dropping in on elderly clients and making them a cup of tea and having a chat, but sometimes I’ll do an overnight stay with clients who are starting to slip mentally and have a tendancy to get out of bed and wander during the night. That’s sad enough as it is, watching them start to lose it and not recognise you even if you’re a frequent visitor.

But it’s the ones in the secure dementia and EMI units, which are little better than prisons that really break your heart. The ones who get no visitors. The ones who have to be told every day, sometimes multiple times, that their husband or wife is dead and take the news like a car wreck every time. The only thing you can tell yourself is that they won’t remember that heartache for long; they won’t remember anything short term for too long. It’s an awful disease.

So Best Regards to you as well brother. 🙂

          @Karmen40

Thanks For The Best Regards Karm, as i could not remember the saying but never forgot how it always gave me this Genuinely Good Warm Feeling Inside. And As Long As You Wish Me Best Regards,,, You Can Call Me A Sick-Cunt, Cause For Me It Evens-Out The Playing Field, As One Cancels-Out The Other, D’you Know What I Mean B G Brother?

I Could Never, And Probably “Will Never” Truly Understand Why I Find This Saying So Darn Comforting, And Sincerely Kind Karm, But What I Do Know, Is That In The Not So Distant Past Everytime That We Ended One Of Our Many Great, (Awesome Actually) Conversations, And We Parted Ways, These Two Words “”Best Regards”” Left Me With This Great Feeling Inside.

You Know That I Have To Add The,,, (And No Gayness) Statement Right??, lol. As It’s So Darn Overpowering Now, That For Myself Not To Say-It Would Be Like Us Ending A Conversation Without Yourself Wishing Me “”Best-Regards”” In The End. And Just Like A Pizza Without The Cheese,,, It Would Leave Me Feeling Empty, And With This Sour Taste In My Mouth.

And I Just Cannot Hold-It Back Anymore, No Matter How Hard I Try, lol. As I’m Sure You Know By Now From Hearing Me Say-It So Darn Much Over The Years, lol. But I Digress, As It Left, And Still Leaves Me “Today” & Right Now As A Matter Of Fact, A Little,,, “NO”,,, Very Sad,,, When I Read Back The Always Positive, And Encouraging Words That You Had For Me, When I Was Going Through Some Tough/Difficult Times In My Life.

I Truly **Miss You Man**, And I Wish So-Much That I Could Hear/Read You Say These Two Words To Me That (For Myself) Made Me Feel So Good,,, And Like Someone Truly Cared For Me, And Ws Not Just Uttering The Words Bye-Bye, which Sounds so Final, and Cold, as You Once Told Me. And With My Shitty Memory,,, I Never Forgot That, Go Figure Eh? Now When I Look Back, And Read Many Of Our Past Conversations,,,,,yea 🙁

          Keep Well Karm,
          Still Your Bro,
          And Will Be For
          All-Time Karmen
          Andre. 🙂 & 🙁

Hate to be THAT person but it’s just ‘by’. You are wasting your life by typing an unnecessary e at the end of that word. It’s only bye in goodbye.

      Also, welcome!
