Foot Wound Becomes Badly Infected, Leads to Amputation

Foot Wound Becomes Badly Infected, Leads to Amputation

Today’s edition of Best Gore Members Rock is brought to you by Best Gore member @PugLover77 whose foot wound got infected, then reinfected until there was no other way but to amputate the foot:

Hi Best Gore!

As a long time reader of this awesome site, I figured it’s about time I contributed something.

This was my left foot, after a dime-size wound on the bottom of it, became badly infected over a weekend. After being taken to the ER, surgery was done to remove all the infected tissue.

The pictures were taken the day after surgery. They applied a graft, made from the lining of pig bladder. It pretty much regrew all the tissue and skin, but 6 months later, another infection occurred, and I ended up having a below-knee amputation.

Thank you for sharing your pics and story with us, @PugLover77. It’s insane how seemingly ordinary wound can turn one’s life around and leave them without a leg:

      1. My dad’s solution for everything (from headache to nose-bleeds to seizures) was to “go run around the block.” Ironically, he had his toe removed, then his whole foot, then eventually had a below the knee amputation. Said it was from a little infected cut, but it was diabetes related. Oddly, he didn’t appreciate my suggestions to go run around the block.
PS, I want to see the stump, too.
PPS, your infected foot was really spectacular, @PugLover77.

        1. I was going to suggest diabetes since they didn’t specifically mention necrotizing fascetius (sp?) or anything like that.

My uncle had diabetes and would have to have somebody trim his toenails for him because he used to butcher himself & my aunt was afraid he would end up losing a limb.

      1. Thanks for the kind words! Funny, I haven’t shown these pics before, as my friends/family would either get sick, or feel sad for me. It was a long 6-ish months, trying to heal my foot. Should have amputated sooner! Lol

      1. @kira the harsh is staring at that rotten block of foot. there’s a reason such parts are not encased in glass but incinerated upon amputation.
and I am more of a behind the scenes contributor, offering up myself nightly..

I will speak whenever the hell I want. cause that’s just me.
        so deal with it
        or don’t.

          1. You have all the answers @illeagal. Is there a difference between nose snot and dick snot? Viscosity is key in preventing ass fires.

    1. If I had that happening to me they would be fo4ced to knocked me out until it’s gone or fixed then they would need to strap me down for when I find out it was amputated so I don’t kill everyone in an emotional rage

      1. Heard of a woman just recently was driving with the car door opened and with one leg out and one leg in then hits a pole with the door and fucked her whole shit up, her leg couldn’t be saved, she was put to sleep whilΓ¨ they finished amputation of her leg, she wakes up and starts yelling to the doctors, nurses and everyone within reach, and says that fuck her life, she don’t want to live with no leg she wants to die and just going crazy and shit…

I kinda picture what you said similar to what I heard… fucked up situation to find yourself in…

  1. All the decades of heavy drinking and drug abuse I have done and I have never had any health repercussions, not even the dreaded diabetes, forces me to truly acknowledge just how lucky I have been and continue to be.

  2. FYI everyone if you ever have severe infections or ulcers – -near infrared light therapy will help you out a lot. It is a miracle treatment that is cheap and easy. Look it up there is a good lecture on youtube by a doctor who uses it to treat all manner of serious infections and it usually will work. Its magic.

  3. Geez man, you are lucky to be alive with this type on infection, with what looks like to be a rather angry, and aggressive bitch, to say the least! I find it truly amazing what they can do with Pig Tissue in performing today,s medical procedures, even as far as using Pig Muscles, and Arteries to replace clogged, or damaged ones in your legs, helping with circulation in order to rebuild dying, or dead leg muscles, due to lack of oxygenated blood for years. The Pig tissue has also helped save thousands of lives using them for heart valve transplant Surgeries, instead of plastic ones used in the past for decades with fewer complications, or sometimes even outright failure. I will put my PIG AVATAR up as a sign of respect, and Appreciation , to our Flat Nosed Friend, lol “”The Pig”” πŸ™‚

  4. I had 2 infections resulting from a bad burn on right calf , do not under estimate an infection. They can spread and become irreversible in just a few hours ! . 1st infection required daily injections of anti biotics and the wound began to smell !
Second wound , I took 1000 mg of vitamin C daily that was laying around at a friends house by chance. The wound began to dry up and scab over immediately as soon as the vitamin C was absorbed into my system. Healed in a month the 1st infection took over 4 months and scared the shit out of me as amputation was mentioned !

  5. Hope you’re not suffering anymore @puglover77 Thats one seriously impressive infection the KGB wouldn’t hessitate to inject their enemies with, it kinda reminds me of krokodil from that neck of the woods.

Thank you for sharing with us, I hope you recover speedily and find comfort without anymore worry. Time for a shot of Vodka me thinks

    1. Have a vodka for me! I healed so good! After 4 weeks, I was in a prosthesis, walking and driving. I don’t hide it – the little kids in my neighborhood call me the “Ironman Lady”, haha.

    1. All the new technology is awesome. I am on prosthetic #3 now. And my socket (the carbon fiber part my stumpie goes into) has a tie-dye shirt laminated onto it. If I don’t want tie-dye, I have spandex covers, to change the color.

  6. Why the fuck would you post some nasty ass shit like that that’s not gore, that’s fucking disgusting, I would be embarrassed as fuck posting some shit like that Jesus Christ. Oh my God anyway. You are a nasty fucking motherfucker and so is this fucking website. Well you can erase this comment, I guess it is my opinion, after all, and my freedom of speech, but I just want to say you’re a sick, nasty mother fuker. by Bye, bye.

    1. Lol fucking wetback spick ,Go cash your welfare check and hang out at the high school at recess you fucking weakling. Lol im pretty sure he’d rather be a “sick motherfucker” than a fucking squeamish pussy outlander…

  7. Ok first of all, no, you fuckin, didn’t you? Little cracker jack. Second of all, fuck you you mother fuckin bitch ass motherfucker. And another thing. I’m the original owner of this land so pretty much you’re the one that got out casted in a Mayflower boat full of races. Thieves, burglars and rapists and murderers that the queen didn’t want a third of all suck my mother fucking balls because I’m a us citizen and what is your problem coming at me sideways? You little bitch. And I just want to finish it off by saying he’s a nasty mother fucker for having necrosis in the first place. And you know what that could have been fixed with natural remedy? Instead, he went with a fucking healthy human killer, aka doctor. Because they’re nothing but a paycheck, you see, you don’t even like your own fucking race, you’d rather fucking go to a doctor that doesn’t know shit about shit because he was too busy getting hammered in college. By the way why people are all about business and if that business includes cutting off limbs and telling people lies for money not my problem. You put your whole faith into one human being. You said it, Mr. cracker. Don’t put all your beans in one pot. Oh and last thing I want to say is your arrogance is the sign of weakness here because I’m just more aware than you are plain and fucking simple, suck my balls good night everybody, I mean, good morning wherever the fuck you .

  8. Why in the world would anyone want to transplant anything coming from a pig into their body???
Just eating a little too much pig will get you sick…
Pigs are the dirtiest animals there can be…
Sad to hear your loss Mr Pugluv, can’t help to think that this leg of yours got lost in great part due to negligence from your own self, I mean before your feet started to go infectious I’m pretty sure that you knew something wasnt right and you just ignored it or denied it…
The human body is super amazing everybody’s body is not just @empty soul’s or @cadejo’s and infections are part of everyday life and anybody can and should overcome infection by all natural means…
I’m pretty sure that had your feet been scrubbed with hot water and soap one time, only one time but time after time again until you had nothing but foam, that leg of yours would still be a part of you… no doubt about that at all…

    1. @sekritajun

      Excuse me…

…but much research has been done on xenotransplantation (xeno = foreign; that is, the transplant of an organ from one species to another) and have found it satisfactory. YOU can be blasΓ© (unimpressed or indifferent), probably because no one you care about has ever needed an organ transplant, but if they DID, wouldn’t you prefer an animal (which most people kill to eat anyway) provide such an organ?

THAT, to have animals bred specifically to provide organs at a moment’s notice, than to be put on a waiting list that could last for YEARS.

    2. First off, I’m female. I have had diabetes for 38 years (I’m 51). My podiatrist saw & treated the tiny wound, 1x per week. I was to to see her on a Monday, but the Friday evening before, I ended up getting sick. The wound looked normal; the infection had set in, way under the skin, so it wasn’t visible. I went to the E/R, they did an ultrasound of the bottom of my foot, and could see pus pockets. I had to get started on i.v. antibiotics, had surgery the next day. It was not negligence.

      1. My bad Ms. PugLuv it is understandable that something like this happened to you for having diabetes for so long, that must suck big-time…

And @cadejo just cause cancer or diabetes don’t run in your genes that doesn’t mean that you’ll get a cancer pass or a diabetic one…

In order to heal a disease you have to understand disease at the cellular level and understand disease for what it actually is, interrupted or blocked information from cell to cell…
Your main goal when you’re sick with anything is to unblock that path of information and allow it to flow uninterrupted and thats it. Your body should do the rest…

I have always thought that hospitals are a place that is where people go to die…
        They’re business and nothing else…
If you have been unfortunate enough to have to go every so often to the hospital, its all fucking bad, if you smart enough to notice the patterns you will get yourself off of that cycle cause you would have noticed how your health wil be deteriorating with each passing visit…
Fuck hospitals they’re on a mission to make people believe that they’re the ones that bring health to them when its the other way around…
Trust your body not your doctor, your body keeps you alive not your doctor…
If you are the type to have to take medications, you’re better off getting off and gamble with your life on a natural supplemention of herbs, vitamins and diets, I know I would…
Pharmaceutical prescription drugs are not designed to make you better, contrary to that, you start with one for something and with time you end up with another prescription for something else and years later you’re whole life is dependent on those medicines…
I can go on and on believe me but I’m pretty sure I got the main points across…
And one final thing, pills of any type for treatment of any kind are the worst type of medicine you could intoxicate your body with, specially and I mean specially if you’ re overweight…

      2. I’d be willing to bet you picked up MRSA from the hospital…..or is it just that easy to get an infection like this having diabetes as I know it affects circulation etc? And really sorry about your foot. πŸ™

  10. @ Joanne
Very interesting photos. I especially appreciate your share as a family member has just been diagnosed with diabetes, (in pregnancy, early twenties).
I realise I have much to learn.
Your recovery is amazing. I am sure you will go from strength to strength!
Just wanted to send my best wishes and a hug. πŸ™‚ x

  11. Silver lining is that your foot rub time is cut in half. You get legging(s) half off. Playing football is easier than playing feetball. You got a leg up on the hopscotch competition. You can get your foot in the door with your boss before your coworkers by throwing it. Athletes foot is reduced to novice sports fan.
Downside: You can’t put your foot in someone’s ass without falling on your ass. Becoming hopping mad isn’t worth the effort anymore. People follow your footprints on the beach looking for pirate treasure. Word of caution. Bigfoot has an amputee fetish. You can never count to 16 again. Walking past a coffee table in the dark still causes phantom pain.
