Fatal Shooting Caught on CCTV in Cabrini Green, Chicago

Outside the row houses in the pleasantly multicultural Cabrini Green neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois, a young black male was incapacitated during a shootout, and then finished off with his own gun.

The CCTV video of the incident shows the man begin the shootout which quickly involves multiple people. As most appear to scatter, he’s the one to go to the ground. He’s badly wounded and keeps trying to grab a hold of his gun. An opponent jumps on him and wrestles him out of the weapon which he then uses to pistol whip and shoot him with several times in the head.

The victim was reportedly a Chicago rapper of sorts.

        They don’t even call those ghetto areas a part of Chicago anymore. The name was unofficially changed to be more aptly descriptive. “CHI-RAQ”! is the title. As soon as you cross into any project/hood type area, it becomes more easily reflective of Fallujah. So to keep everyone on point, and give warning to the uninitiated, a neon sign lights up, street signs flip, and take on the names of their “sister” streets in Iraq.

        I never understood why people loved joining a gang, and with stats like the already OVER 400 killed in CHI-RAQ this year alone, the only conclusion I can make is that the river Tigris must run right down the middle of that killzone.         1. I think you’re on to something regarding the water or maybe some type of toxic smog. I think it was Memorial Day week that saw 81 (?) shootings in Chicago. It’s as if there’s a competition. When D.C. and Detroit etc… make headlines for shootings/homocides, other cities ‘inhabitants’ interpret that as a challenge.
          I also wonder if liberal, sanctuary providing CA is suppressing their stats on violent crimes because I don’t hear much about East L.A. or S. Central areas anymore.

            Here’s a bit of trivia to answer your California question. I was raised in Cali, got lots of family still there so I go visit from Oregon often. Palo Alto is where I grew up, where Stanford University is. Right next to Palo Alto is East Palo Alto. It’s a small city where, when I was growing up and still somewhat now, the per capita murder rate was in the top 10 in the U.S.. Just a cursory Google search will show you. Called “EPA” for short, there is a stark contrast between one of the most affluent cities in the world, and one of the most dangerous. There is a short bridge that literally is the only separation between a mini Chi-Raq and multi million dollar homes. The street the bridge is on is called University ironically.

            Now just outside the Bay Area is Stockton CA. Larger than EPA, and home to one of the most gang infested cities in California and probably the nation. EPA has the distinction of having a large African American gang problem, with a few smaller Latino gangs. Stockton is the opposite with more Latin gangs, but still a sizeable African American gang presence. One of the first exits off the main freeway as you come from the Bay Area into Stockton is called Charter Way. Nothing but gang graffiti and trash strewn everywhere. A neighborhood called “Conway” is in the same area. You almost literally have to duck to avoid the stray gunfire. The whole South Side is a kill zone. Stockton also has the unfortunate distinction of being one of the most dangerous cities in the Country decades going. And often scored in the top ten most dangerous and murderous cities as well.

            I still have a lot of family there. None of us are gang members or affiliated with anything dangerous like that. Many of us are college graduates, and have good jobs and careers. Many served in the military like myself and my uncles and cousins. We take care of our families, and avoid getting sucked into the bullshit. With a few rare exceptions. Myself (not as a gang member but yes, going to prison for some poor choices I made), a cousin who was shot in the back and paralyzed from the waste down for an argument with another over a female. And a younger cousin I have who is currently doing 15 years for his own bad choices. The rest of my family is able to avoid that kind of trouble, and be relatively successful. Enough to move to better parts of town or cities away from the violence.

            My point is that when you hear that it’s all because of the socio-economic conditions, high crime rates, and lack of opportunities that many of my fellow African Americans are in is the reason for failure I want you to know that from someone who was there that that aint the whole story. It was choices that kept damn near all my family from becoming statistics remaining mired in the muck. They worked HARD and scrimped and scratched out a good living for most of us. Even with the bullshit all around us. These idiots can CHOOSE not to kill just as easily as they choose to kill. They can CHOOSE not to rob, beat, and gangbang just like we did. And the fact that a few of us in my family ended up fucking up and going to prison is because we CHOSE to not do right, period. I can’t blame it on anyone but myself, because nobody forced me.

            Now I can say that all here, but if I say that to some people, I will be shouted down as an Uncle Tom, or Ruckus, or whatever else they would want to slander me with. All the while not taking responsibility for their own actions, and choosing to avoid gangs, crime, and a cycle of violence that seems to never end.
