On the afternoon of February 2, 2018, a 28 year old man identified as Rodrigo Martins de Andrade was shot dead at the door of his wife’s store near the Teixeira Mall, in the central region of Teixeira de Freitas, southern Bahia, Brazil.
The CCTV footage of the assassination shows the gunmen arrive on a motorcycle as one dismounts and appears to open fire at his mark. Rodrigo tries to flee, but is gunned down and falls on the road where the gunman finishes him off. Information provided by the police states that he had been shot 6 times and died on the spot. The person who had been talking with Rodrigo was non fatally shot and is recovering in Municipal Hospital of Teixeira de Freitas.
Additional information released by the police indicates that Rodrigo had previously been jailed for drug trafficking. Consequently, even though the motive for his murder is still unknown, the suspicion is that it is related to drugs.
