Medic Checks Man with Blasted Brain for Signs of Life

Medic Checks Man with Blasted Brain for Signs of Life

At first I was like – what the fuck? Why is he checking a guy whose brain is outside of his body for signs of life? But then I realized some brainless people are not only alive, they even have some pretty powerful positions. Just look at the head of White House for an example. I kind of understand the medic now.

You’d still think that in cases like this one, visual inspection would be more than sufficient but perhaps professional etiquette dictates the medics to use a device to reaffirm that an individual is no longer alive. You could probably end up being in deep trouble (legally) or in endless remorse if you didn’t save the life just because your eyes were (mistakenly) telling you he was already dead. Or perhaps the recourse would be the loss of license and end of career as an emergency medical technician?

  1. “…some brainless people are not only alive, they even have some pretty powerful positions. Just look at the head of White House for an example. I kind of understand the medic now.”

    Especially the one from 2000-2008.

  2. Hey, the man is thorough! Some suicides aren’t successful and the people do survive. In this case, it doesn’t appear so, but, I’m amazed they can find where to place the various tubes in the nose and neck in some cases.

  3. i could be wrong, but he looks like he’s a M.E. not an E.M.T. i mean look at his cloths

i have heard that in recent cases you can use the pulse and blood pressure to discover cause of death

and besides that looking at the brains, it almost looks like he thought he might be alive put it on and then the brain just kinda rolled out and broke open when they fell on the leg

  4. Dunno about medication, but he might checking for how long he was dead, in Asia, in poor country might have use of him for organ to make a profit, if he is just dead, they need him tu put him into a place (don’t know what called) to cut the fresh organ out and then in deep freeze, too long, then nvm. Just my guess that the man might checking how long he have been dead for some fancy trick xD

  5. I’m a paramedic, and I know it used to be regardless how obvious the death we needed an ECG heart rhythm for the idiots who wore suits and worked behind a desk and never stepped foot on the street for proof of death. Probably what is going on here too.

  6. i’m a paramedic and normally you print out an ECG strip to confirm death of the heart. Auscultation is also required as ECG only shows electrical contraction of heart not mechanical force, so the heart, lungs and neck arteries are listened to to ensure not blood movement around the body. The only reason I could see for him to be using a BP would be that the patient is still alive (even if on the verge of dying) and is assessing strength of heart contraction/amount of blood loss etc. Also could have been for organ donation, IE if he still has some kind of bp, oxygen is still being delivered to organs allowing more time to get to hospital.
