2013 Earthquake in Sichuan, China - Compilation of CCTV Videos

On April 20, 2013 just 5 years after a massive earthquake claimed the lives of 69,197 people in Sichuan province, China the region was hit with another powerful quake, although not as devastating as the one from 2008. According to the Chinese state owned Xinhua News Agency, the 2013 earthquake left at least 196 people dead and more than 12,200 injured. Dozens are still unaccounted for.

Below is a compilation of videos captured by CCTV cameras across the regions affected by the 6.6 magnitude earthquake. It’s some pretty scary stuff:

  1. The first earthquake that I can remember was when I was about 4.in my mind I can remember myself saying what is going on and seeing my mothers cabinets and mirrors falling off the walls.it looks like ocean waves moving when you are outside and it hits.

    1. The austere soundtrack carried the comp magnificently until 2:17. Then, kiss my blue bamboo if it’s not a tree-hugging panda scampering like someone threw a pack of black cats at it!! It almost made me unthink my subterranean nuclear mining theory. Anyway, I bet panda chops served over a savory bed of broiled water chestnuts would really hit the spot.

  2. I’ve experienced a couple earthquakes here in southern California, luckily nothing major. I think they’re cool. The walls wave and wiggle in all different directions. Then I wonder how the house is still standing.
