    1. Yes. They know for a fact the tent was cut from the inside. What is not mentioned is there were also lookout holes cut into the opposite side of the tent. Also, these were very experienced hikers. They had faced these types of conditions before. If it was an avalanche, they would have organized, dug dugouts and helped each other. It looked, however, like they all ran towards the woods as if being chased. They did not stay together as a group as knowledgeable as theirs would have in the case of an avalanche.
