Best Gore Was the Place to Be

For over 12 years, was the go to source for reality news. The founder of the website has moved on to pursue different endeavors. Change, as they say, is the only constant in life.

Remember: Just when the caterpillar thought its world was over, it turned into a butterfly! I'd like to thank each and every one of you for years of support and making Best Gore the best website on the internet. To get in touch: bestgore [at]

Video I Made:

Dear Mark,

At nearly 30 years old, it seems a little crazy to be alive. There were so many times when I thought about suicide. I swore I wouldn't let myself live past 25 if my life didn't improve. It didn't, but I kept going.

Sometimes when I was feeling particularly worthless and hopeless, I would visit BestGore. People don't talk about pain and suffering truthfully. Sometimes all our society seems to want to do is hide, ignore, and lie. Through the content on the site, I was able to see how good I actually had it. I had a family, talents, and smarts (all my limbs intact and my guts on the inside of my body) that I was letting go to waste.

I even witnessed a recording of someone committing suicide on your site. I can't fully describe how effective that scene has been in preventing my own suicide throughout my years. He looked so emotionless and somehow so alone. He clearly was undergoing severe psychological distress, but he was helpless to realize it. It was senseless and left such a void. Before seeing it, I had imagined suicide to be some grand jesture. I refused to think of it as it really was. BestGore allowed me to see it for the empty, meaningless and lonely act that it is.

I wouldn't be alive without Bestgore.

Sincerely, John A McCain of St. Louis, Missouri

Dear Mark,

your website opened my eyes and was never vulgar or immoral, but informative and educative.

"Change, as they say, is the only constant in life."

I totally agree. I'm a father, a worker, a student (psychology) and a traveler. I will always be all of them, always been (well, a father only since 2016). I like people. I live in London where there's a fantastic mixture of cultures, and many times I used what I learned from bestgore, in various discussions about human behaviors.

It was healthy: it proved how real we are, also in our darkest personal and collective imagination. We have it inside us, somehow, and it really exists out there, somewhere.

I don't think it's for all, and maybe that's why you've been persecuted: those who are already, maybe unconsciously, filled up of gore, cannot handle its representation.

Anyway, thanks again. It made made me a richer person.

Dear Mark,

I would like to start by saying thank you. Thank you for creating Bestgore, thank you for hosting it for so long, thank you for sharing this adventure with us. I am a young Frenchman who is about to join the active life, and Bestgore has been, in my eyes, one of the greatest journalistic libraries in the world.

As you said, the truth disturbs the powers that be. George Orwell wrote: "In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.". And Bestgore brought that truth, the one that is not shown to us in the media, who want to sell us a peaceful world in the center of ourselves and who work to hide the pure and shattering truth that our world goes through every moment.

We all remember the Collateral Murder video, published by WikiLeaks in 2010, showing cold executions by the U.S. military on civilians including two Reuters journalists in the middle of the Iraq war. A war against terrorism, where WikiLeaks with its files has identified 66 000 civilian deaths out of 111 000. A bloody butchery as we have seen in Syria, Libya or Afghanistan, where terrorists were on all sides, whether NATO or the country.

And when this video was published, the American government tried to censor it. It cowardly arrested and convicted Chelsea Manning, because Manning revealed the truth for all to see, without any editing or falsification, the sad truth that we were finally able to form an opinion based on and not on government propaganda.

When in 2012, Bestgore published 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick as a journalistic assignment, we saw the madness of Luka Rocco Magnotta, we saw what he did, without omission or lies. And the Canadian government to try to shut you up, Mark.

But no, Bestgore survived for a long time: he showed what the consequences of the drug war in Mexico or that Daesh was still present in Syria, not dead.

Bestgore showed violent videos because they were the only ones that really showed the facts. Bestgore showed me what was going on around the globe that the media didn't comment on. Bestgore showed us the reality of current wars and conflicts.

I say it again: thank you, Mark, you have served the cause of truth seeking and journalism for 12 years.

All my respect,

Hi Mark,

I'm a huge best gore fan and would periodically sit for hours scrolling through your website. My husband would laugh at my obsession with your website and murders.

I can't imagine the work that went into your website but I certainly appreciate it. I loved the blood, the gore, the mess most of it. I say most as I refused to watch anything where animals were hurt, I have my limits.

I just want to say thank you and if you ever set up anything like that again I will be there to view

Kind regards

I wanted to say thank you for your efforts with BG. Your crafting it and maintaining it over the years had to involve many, many sleepless hours and headaches.. I've been involved in audio production and podcasts via the web; and I know how much work is involved in keeping a endeavor going.

I believe you provided a valuable service to the public at large. Many times, when I thought I was having a crappy day, I'd mosey on over to BG and see how lucky I've been in my life (so far)! The Fates and Karma (I am a devout believer of both) can have very, very wry senses of humor.. More than anything, your site provided me a fresh perspective. I've always had a deep respect for life. And I realize that it is fragile; precious.

Time and tide wait for no man, and the luck (or lack thereof) of the draw can affect us at any place and time.

I've had several brushes with the Reaper myself. I've been around a bit as well, and when I say that you and I are largely on the same page and wavelength, you can take that to the bank.

I read your interview; you strike me as wise and insightful.

While purchasing BG is too rich for my blood, just know that there are guys out there who are grateful for your efforts and originality. If I hit the Lotto, maybe we can talk terms!

May the wind be at your back, always.

Dear Mark,

Bestgore has been a big part of my childhood, I would spend hours obsessively seeking a thrill. I didn't realize the lesson I would learn. I've attempted suicide multiple times throughout my life - too many times. Whenever I felt suicidal, I would always end up back on bestgore.

Your site made me see the true pain and the shock behind suicides, the pain they cause. A painless death is never a clean one. You've stopped me many times from a selfish choice. Bestgore made me think twice about ending up dead on a sidewalk.

My dad died back in 2016 and it was such a struggle not to follow him to the grave. It is 6am in Canada and I am studying rather than thinking of a needlessly cruel suicide.

Thus, not only have you prevented me me from a bloody act, but you have shielded my friends and family from unbearable pain. Thank you, Mark. I am sad to see bestgore go but I am excited for your future prospects.

Yours always,

Hi Mark,

I understand you must be inundated with constant inquiries about what people like me can do now to find uncensored news now that best gore . com is gone. I am someone who religiously sought out your site since a very young man.

I am 26 now and I've always looked to bestgore to show me truly, without filter, what's happening in the allies and plains of the middle eastern conflict zones, the violence in the favelas and the barrios, the Palestinian struggle, it was all for me to see un filtered - recorded mostly by camerca phones held by people there to witness the atrocities in person.

I became someone who NEEDED to know exactly what was going on in Yemen, in Syria, in Palestine, etc and knew I could only come to bestgore.

Much love and support,

Dear Mr.Mark,

Nice to meet you sir!

I'm a guy born in 1999 of China. I think I know what happened to you and what kind of situation you are in.

That's really shit.

Have a nice day there sir! Thanks for your time readling my messages! I'm grateful to you!

Yours sincerely

Loyal BestGore follower

Hey Mark,

just wanted to say I love the website and truly miss it. I can't find any other website as great as yours. Even closed, it's still the best!! Whenever I'm down best gore reminds me there is always someone somewhere going through worse... I'm your biggest secret fan!!! I wish you had a Facebook or something we could follow you on to make sure you're ok.

I love gardening so it's nice to see you're doing something better than putting your face in a screen. I know you don't know me but I love you.

Be safe!! Happy quarantine,

Hi Mark,

your website helped me suppress my fear of dead people, a thing that would mess up in my Forensic Studies, I thank you for making this web-site. Wish you the best.

I just recently found out y'all removed the website and I was honestly distraught. A lot of people called me fucked up for going to Best Gore but honestly it was a great outlet for my emotions. I have always been a cutter, and also extremely suicidal.

The videos and images shared gave me a feeling of peace that I cannot explain. Yeah, it was a fucked up website, but everyone is fucked up in their own way. Thanks for being there for 12 years. I'm gonna miss it.

Thank you for all of this effort, websites like this are the ones being the true embodiment of freedom of speech. Keep going, one day we'll go through this. Maybe donations will help the website stay up.

Thank you for opening my eyes and making me feel much more alive than anyone else, it's like our brains are hardwired to see death.

People like me and you will always be targeted, because everyone is educated with the same authoritarian saying: "Believe what you're told, not what you see".

The world is on a concerning phase, where governments are starting to successfully put down to sleep any opposition, remember the governments are our enemy, not our friends.

The man with no name, from a galaxy far far away.

Dear Mark,

Like many others my mental health was and is poor. I experience bouts of depression every three to four weeks. I used to use your site as a tool during particularly difficult depressive episodes to curb my suicidal thoughts. Watching other human beings mamed or killed caused a momentary hypersensitivity to everything I'm grateful for.

Suicidal thoughts don't make me less grateful but instead demand my mind's full attention. BestGore's content was the panic button I'd press to flush out my thoughts when they grew too potent. Now I'm at a loss. The best I can do is replay the five or six gut retching videos I have burned into my senses. Or I could find help.

Thank you for giving me a panic button and for showing me the ease at which brutality and death permanently change our lives. I appreciate you.

Dear Mark,

At the last moment, when your webpage ended, it helped me so much. So many questions have been answered. This is to see what you are actually not allowed to see.

After 20 years of excruciating pain, my wife decided to commit suicide. She hanged herself.

You are left with so many questions; Has she been in pain? How long did it take? It has all been answered.

From my heart: My sincere thanks.

Eric (Eymoutiers, France)

Aloha Mark,

I learned a great deal about people from BG. The people featured, the regulars, the first time commenters. Especially your insight, your view of what and why things happen the way they do sometimes. Your understanding of different cultures, their way of life, the reasons for their cognitive dissonance.

I am able to see better now. I didn't realize how much I held back during conversations just to spare feelings.

I miss BG. The information was liberating. There were very smart people that visited regularly and some interactions were profound.

I really miss the site and I wish there was a way to donate.

Take care Braddah

hy mark,

since 2019 i suffer from depression and borderline. i knew about bestgore in the beginning of 2020, because i was in a really bad situation of my life. since i met the bestgore i used to go there every day, because my suicidal thoughts were constant, and somehow, seeing those people being tortured made me wake up for life, thanking for what i have. when I entered the category of suicide, my thoughts of self-harm and suicide automatically disappeared from my mind. I saw people jumping out of buildings and / or shooting themselves in the head and it showed me how good it is to live. their eyes were empty. I am very sad that BG is over, but I support you in your future achievements, because you saved me even when I didn't think there would be salvation. I love you, Mark. thank you from the bottom of my heart.(sorry for my bad english im from brazil).

of his eternal follower,

Interview for a magazine being made by Anonymous

I was interviewed by wonderful anons from the Lamp Lit Magazine.

How are you? How is your Christmas, your family, your life? How are you enjoying the apocalypse?

I've been amazing lately, and it's only compounded by the fact that I got to spend the Christmas season with people I have not been with on Christmas for years. So I am savoring every moment to the fullest. As for the apocalypse, I have been preparing for the worst case scenario since before the Magnotta fiasco and feel quite ready to take whatever is thrown at me.

How is your daily livelihood? Are you still able to earn money on the internet?

I spent too many endless years on the internet before calling it quits earlier this year and wish I would have done it longer time ago. My primary focus right now is gardening, wild edibles foraging, fermenting, making tinctures, growing own mushrooms, vermicomposting and random commerce by way of exchange. Thanks to my deep knowledge of natural remedies and traditional healing methods, I have successfully treated various ailments of numerous people and have received support in exchange. Some remnants of internet revenue still remain in place, but they are not my primary focus at this time.

Were you ever able to actually make any good money from bestgore? Has being associated with the website helped or hindered your career?

Best Gore was an active website for 12+ years. For most of its life, it was ads free, so it cost me more than it earned (even discounting time invested to run it). More recently, I put some ads up on it, but reduced them to just banner ads in non prominent parts of the site, and disabled them for logged in users. Still, because the popularity of the site really picked up in its last few years, these ads generated more revenue than the costs associated with running the website.

Nevertheless, I have never delved too deeply into revenue generation with the site, and as such I've never utilized more effective advertising methods known for delivering higher yields, ie pop unders, in-line ads, video pre-rolls, social bars, etc.

In terms of career choices, my offline endeavors thus far have run independently of whatever happens online, so I have experienced neither hindrance nor advances in my career as a result of the involvement with Best Gore.

Have you ever spoken with intelligence agents or been privilege to high stakes scenarios?

One of the best places to find uncensored violent content now are imageboards and social media. Does any of this surprise you, that censorship is actually increasing as opposed to decreasing, that facebook has taken the place of the internet shock site?

In all honesty, I have never had a Facebook account and never will. Likewise, I have never utilized Facebook so I have no idea what goes on there. As such I don't feel competent to comment on its place as the internet shock site. I am however not surprised by the out of control censorship of people generated content on the internet in general. Aware and informed populace has been a thorn in the side of the powers that be for a long time.

While the internet has given massive power to the hands of the controllers and has afforded them the ability to profile and monitor the activities of the plebs, it has also brought a lot of awareness on taboo topics to a lot of people.

For example, it is thanks to the internet that so many people became aware of the fact that prior to the COVID-19 plandemic, the holocaust was the greatest hoax of all time. The almost perfect execution of the greatest lie ever told turned into a complete nightmare for the planners of the hoax because the information that had been suppressed about it got shared all over the internet and not even the vast armies of paid Hasbara shills could stop it. In other words, no amount of money could match the power of the people willing to spread the truth out of the pure goodness of their hearts, without getting paid for it.

Do you have any predictions on the subjects of censorship or publishing in the context of future society?

Twitter became one of the most popular websites quite literally out of the blue. That's not a coincidence. The orchestrated effort to funnel all internet users into a small number of well controlled large enterprises has been obvious to everyone willing to live with their eyes open for years.

One day, all mainstream media talking heads began injecting their reports with lines prompting the people to like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter and subscribe to their YouTube channel... They've brainwashed the public with it until much of the population has invested so much time building up their presence on these controlled sites, that it would be near impossible for them to quit. It also engaged the populace enough to leave them with no time to reasonably explore viable alternatives. That was the important step in controlling the narrative.

All these large enterprises started with little censorship, so people had no reason to remain suspicious, but once large enough section of the population was completely locked in on them, that's when the control of the narrative truly kicked in. Old habits die hard, so after years of keeping the public on these sites, the people have been less likely to go elsewhere so now they can also control what information is available to the large segment of the internet users.

It was a crafty plan, which had to start with hardly any censorship, but that's expected since the orchestrators are the same people who've orchestrated every major war in the past several centuries, tricking people into killing one another over made up stuff, and planned every major event that impacted the people's lives over the years.

So needless to say we are dealing with skilled tricksters with lots of experience brainwashing the public to carry out unspeakable acts and even come out of them all as victims. As such, the predictions on the future of society may not seem the brightest, but I think we may be near, or even past the point of the aware outnumbering the sheeple. The aware are the silent majority, and the level of awareness they hold is unlike any in history. Once this silent majority speaks up, the bleat of the useful idiots will drown in the mighty roar of the free man.

The enemy, in my opinion, is well aware of it and it scares the holy anus out of him. That may be why he's turning the heat up more than usual despite knowing full well the boiling frog effect is the only reason why his plans had been successful thus far. The moment the free man gets to feel too much heat, he will rise up and trigger the ripple effect with the fellow free men and we could witness revolution the world has not yet experienced.

What did you think about the Netflix documentary regarding Magnotta?

I'm not sure I know which one we're talking about. I have never had a Netflix subscription so unless it's something I may have come across on the internet, I may not have seen it. Fact of a matter is, I have not followed up on Magnotta since my escape from Canada back in 2016.

How was serving out your punishment for corrupting canadian morals? Do you feel that your sentence was justified and that you were rehabilitated?

"Rehabilitated? To me it's just a made up word; a politician's word. So young fellas like yourself can wear a suit, and tie, and have a job." Remember that one? You probably lead me up to that one, didn't you :o)

I'm not the first and will not be the last victim of persecution under the guise of "protecting morals". As far back as 399 BC, Greek philosopher Socrates was charged with "corrupting the youth." Unlike Socrates, I got out of my phoney persecution alive and lived up the last days of my website, ending it on my own terms. And what profound and enriching experience that was. I would not swap that for anything. I'm not sure that's quite the degree of "rehabilitation" my persecutors had hoped for?
