Tricycle Rider Mangled After Being Rear Ended by Truck then Hit by Oncoming Vehicle

Today’s second edition of Best Gore Members Rock is brought to you by Best Gore member @alienworm12, whose friend got involved in a traffic accident while operating his trike, and ended up dying from injuries:

Hi there,

here are pics of my friend’s accident that happened here in the Philippines. He was a driver of a tricycle. He was hit from the back by a truck, his vehicle was pushed to the opposite lane, where he was then hit by an oncoming vehicle from the opposite lane.

He succumbed to his injuries on June 24, 2017. The accident happened on June 20, 2017 at 8am.

Thank you for sharing the pictures with us, @alienworm12. I’m sorry to hear about your friend. Such a terrible tragedy. He truly got mangled, but in some of the pictures he looks like he was recovering. What a shock it must have been for his relatives to find out that his condition severely deteriorated after 4 days in the hospital, and the next thing they know, he’s dead. There must have been some brain damage or something of sorts that the medics missed, or failed to properly look into during the 4 days of treating him.

  1. So it was a motorcycle with a sidecar? Those are usually pretty safe vehicles but then this happened in the Philippines so I don’t know what the roads are like there.
Sorry for your loss…I lost my best friend and riding buddy a few years back…but then I found him at the next exit getting gas and cigarettes.

  2. Wow. I’m surprised by the picture of him sitting up, seemingly conscious and apparently not hooked up to anything. If there was brain trauma (which, given the state of his head/face, there probably was) they should have kept him in a medically induced coma until the swelling went down and they could evaluate the extent of the damage. Barring that, I would say that he probably died from internal injuries that weren’t attended to.

  3. Riding along is likely what he was doing. Possibly a fellow “triciclyst”. It seems odd how he got picks in ER. Nurses dont give a shit less. Less regulations. Dead patient.Funds are not sufficient;Dead patient.

  4. Since this post involves friendship I just want to put it out there that I am looking for a “friend with benefits” in the Toronto Canada area. Preferably with full dental and prescriptions coverage who is easy to get along with.

      1. was it you who took the pictures? do you think he would be proud, get a laugh or be mad he’s on Best Gore page?
did you ever discuss all the cycle accidents found here? I am sorry your friend died

  5. Strange times in your country when your president claims he is going to fill the morgue with the bodies of all addicts and then pays locals to shoot them lets hope things improve may your friend r.i.p

  6. I see what went wrong here. These tricycles are manufactured to carry a family of 12 (not counting the inlaws, but can be accommodated). Once you start driving these with one person at a time, that’s when they malfunction and kill the driver.

  7. RIP. Thanks for sharing photos of your friend’s last hours and funeral. This tragedy should remind us of how death shadows us at all times. It could be “game over” for any of us at any time (and will be sooner or later).

  8. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better, stronger, faster. But it’s the Philippines so we only have $6.

In all seriousness though, sorry about your friend.

  9. For some reason, I find the stuff they put on the dead peoples faces to make them look “normal” incredibly disturbing. I’d rather look at the death expression on their natural faces than that shit, fucking freaks me out.
