Man Accused of Stealing a Wallet Is Beaten in Bus Terminal

A man was assaulted in Boqueirão bus terminal after someone accused him of stealing a wallet of another passenger. The images show the man lying on the ground, surrounded by at least six people trying to retrieve the allegedly stolen wallet.

An eye witness told the Brazilian publication G1 that the suspect boarded the bus but was quickly accused of stealing a wallet. He defended himself by saying that the only wallet he had was his own. The mob encircled him and demanded of him to return the wallet, which he refused, again saying that the wallet was his. So the mob beat him up.

The beating started on the bus, but the driver asked them to take it outside so they did. As the man lay motionless on the road, the mob eventually dispersed but nobody came to assist the victim. The business in the terminal continued as usual.

      1. National sports around here will be:
-Driving over tourists in pedestrian crossings.
-Moving some driving plaques to misdirect tourist into favela.
-Deal drugs to tourists and “accidentally” arrange a meeting with local mob.
